On the afternoon of October 12, Wang Yudi, Executive Deputy Director of Consulting Committee of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, and her delegation visited Wanxiang to discuss the impact of the current international economic situation on the corporate development and the countermeasures. Lu Weiding reported on the situation and strategic thinking of Wanxiang. Wanxiang has always adhered to the steady development of industrial manufacturing, insisted on the spiritual support for Sannong (farmers, villages and agriculture), and established Lu Guanqiu’s Sannong Spiritual Support Fund. In the next stage, Wanxiang will focus on the three key things. Firstly, build Wanxiang Innovation & Energy-Gathering City; secondly, set up a shareholding system of the Group; and thirdly, sum up the spirit of Lu Guanqiu, Chairman of the Board.
Wang Yudi highly affirmed Lu Guanqiu’s global strategic vision and entrepreneurial spirit, and she encouraged Lu Weiding to summarize and inherit the spirit of Lu Guanqiu to build Wanxiang Innovation & Energy-Gathering City and make Wanxiang into a world-respected century-old enterprise. Wang Yudi said that she came here with the high respect for the global strategic vision, courage to innovate, low-key and pragmatic entrepreneurial spirit of Lu Guanqiu, Chairman of the Board and founder of Wanxiang. She was so pleased that when seeing the new generation of Wanxiang, Chairman Lu Weiding has inherited these excellent genes and valuable spirits. She believed that “Indigo blue is extracted from the indigo plant, but is bluer than the plant itself” and Lu would do better.
Before leaving, Wang Yudi gave Lu Weiding a handwritten letter of Lu Guanqiu, which she had preserved for 14 years. This letter was written by Lu Guanqiu on June 5, 2004, when Wang Yudi was the Vice Chairman of Zhejiang Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). It was a reply to the request for comment on the reform of state-owned enterprises. Wang Yudi sincerely appreciated that she still could strongly feel the strategic vision and practical spirit of Lu Guanqiu when she read this letter again today. She said that the spirit of Lu Guanqiu was not only the spiritual wealth of Wanxiang, but also the spiritual wealth of the whole society. The Consulting Committee of the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province would like to give help in summarizing the spirit of Lu Guanqiu.
Before the symposium, Lu Weiding accompanied Wang Yudi to visit the Wanxiang Exhibition Hall. Wang Xiaoling, Director of the Strategic Development Department of the Provincial Consulting Committee, Liu Ting, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Provincial Consulting Committee, Wu Hongmei, member of the Provincial Consulting Committee and Chief Engineer of Provincial Development and Planning Research, and Chen Zhicheng, Special Research Fellow of the Provincial Consulting Committee and Division Chief of the Foreign Trade Management Office of Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province escorted Wang Yudi to visit Wanxiang.
